Frequently Asked Questions
Whether you are considering hiring us for an estate sale or planning to shop at one of our events, we have answers to your most common questions.
For Sellers
Thinking about hiring us for an estate sale? Here are the answers to the questions we hear most often.
There are no upfront costs to you. We work on a commission basis, meaning we earn a percentage of the total sale proceeds. This means our interests are aligned — the more we sell your items for, the more we both make. We discuss our commission rate during the free consultation, and there are never any hidden fees or surprise charges.
We sell EVERYTHING. That is what sets us apart from most estate sale companies. While others cherry-pick the big-ticket items and leave you to deal with the rest, we price and sell every single item in your home — from fine antiques and furniture to kitchen utensils, garden tools, holiday decorations, and everyday household items. It all adds up, and our clients are consistently surprised by how much those "little things" are worth.
The typical timeline is about 2-3 weeks from initial consultation to complete cleanout. The first visit is a walkthrough of your home where we assess everything and discuss your goals. We then spend about a week staging, organizing, and pricing. The sale itself runs for 3 days (Thursday through Saturday). After the sale, we handle the complete cleanout within a few days. Your home is left vacuumed, clean, and ready to go.
We take care of everything that remains after the sale. Usable items are donated to local charities and organizations, and anything that cannot be donated is responsibly disposed of. This is all part of our complete cleanout service — you do not have to worry about leftovers. When we hand you the keys, your home is empty, clean, and vacuumed.
Absolutely. We have experience selling vehicles, boats, fine art, antiques, coin collections, stamp collections, musical instruments, sculptures, and all kinds of specialty items. Our team researches each item to ensure proper valuation, and we know how to market these items to the right buyers. If you have something unusual, chances are we have sold something similar before.
The most important thing is to remove any personal items you want to keep — family photos, important documents, jewelry with sentimental value, and anything you do not want sold. Beyond that, we actually prefer you leave everything else as-is. We handle all the staging, organizing, and setup. Do not throw anything away or try to clean up — items you might consider junk could be valuable to collectors and buyers.
For Buyers
Planning to shop at one of our estate sales? Here is what you need to know.
We accept cash and major credit/debit cards at all of our sales. We strive to make the buying process as convenient as possible. All purchases are final — items are sold as-is, which is standard for estate sales.
Our sales are professionally organized and welcoming. You will find a well-staged home with clearly priced items in every room. Our staff is friendly and available to answer questions or help you with purchases. Sales run Thursday through Saturday, with the best selection on the first day. Prices are typically reduced on Saturday to move remaining inventory, so bargain hunters should come back on the last day. Bring bags or boxes if you plan to buy smaller items, and be prepared to transport your own purchases.
We post photos and descriptions of key items on our sale listings before the event, so you can get a preview of what will be available. However, we do not offer in-person previews before the sale opens to ensure fairness for all buyers. Everyone gets the same opportunity when the doors open on the first day.
Buyers are generally responsible for transporting their own purchases. For large items like furniture or appliances, we recommend bringing a truck or arranging your own delivery. Our staff can help you load items into your vehicle. We may be able to hold large items for a short period if you need to arrange pickup, but this is handled on a case-by-case basis.
